What is GW YAF?
GW Young America's Foundation is a chapter of a larger, national Young America's Foundation organization, or YAF. We focus on conservative principles, including individual freedom, limited government, strong national defense, free enterprise, traditional values, and most importantly, freedom of speech. YAF is a 501 (c) (3) organization, meaning that we cannot endorse any specific candidates. There is no single type of conservative we look for, and we value our members' differing ideas, opinions, and beliefs.
GW YAF is best known for the speakers we bring to campus. In recent years, we have had the pleasure of hosting Ben Shapiro, Steve Forbes, Christina Hoff Sommers, Rick Santorum, and Bay Buchanan.
We fight to ensure that freedom of speech is protected on GW's campus. When professors or college administrators try to silence voices that do not align with the liberal monologue, GW YAF works hard to make sure that conservative opinions are shared and discussed on campus.
College can be difficult, especially when you disagree with most of your peers. That's why we're here. We are not only advocates for conservative values, but we are a group of friends that support each other through the obstacles of attending a very liberal university. If you're tired of the PC culture and often find yourself in debates with your roommates and professors, we are the group for you!
